Project Solent Ships - proposed by Alexander McKee OBE.
Here follows a quotation from Alexander McKee OBE's book 'King Henry VIII's Mary Rose' -
"Southsea branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club are undertaking this year a survey of historic wrecks in the Solent, starting with the Boyne and Royal George, the exact locations of which we already have. These, however, are merely dummy runs for the one really important wreck, that of the Mary Rose, sunk 19 July 1545, which would merit a proper archaeological investigation. Apart from the fact that she is believed to lie not far from the Royal George, we have no idea of the location."
